Description
Paparwark Furniture is based on a croft called West Lynne.
I run the family croft with my brother James and we are the 6th generation to croft in Ireland, Bigton. The family croft is comprised of several crofts in the South mainland where we have 150 ewes, 50 hens, 4 goats (who love to be petted) and 5 sheepdogs. Free range eggs are for sale from outside the farmhouse and we now have some of our wool spun into high quality yarn.
The tour starts at 3pm from the farmhouse and from there you will go on a very scenic walk with stunning views of St Ninian’s Isle and a wide range of local wildlife to observe. On this walk you will visit our flock of Shetland sheep with various ancient colours. You also have a chance to hand feed the friendly animals.
Once we return to the farmhouse you will have a tour of the Paparwark Furniture workshop and Showroom where bespoke furniture, wood gifts and various knitting accessories for knitwear enthusiasts are created. Raw fleece and yarn spun from our flock of sheep is also for sale.
The weather in Shetland can change quickly so please wear appropriate clothing.
Tours start at 3pm and lasts for approximately 1 hour. under 12’s come for free
